Abstract
With the rapid growth of urbanization, efficient parking management has become a significant challenge in modern cities. This paper presents a vision-based smart parking system that utilizes image processing and IoT technologies to monitor and manage parking spaces effectively. The proposed system enables users to identify available parking slots in real time and reserve them through an online platform, thereby reducing search time, traffic congestion, and fuel consumption. A Raspberry Pi-based module integrated with a camera is used to detect vehicle presence in parking slots, while an RFID system is employed for secure vehicle entry and exit tracking. The system also automates parking fee calculation based on duration, enhancing user convenience and operational efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed solution improves space utilization, reduces manual intervention, and provides a scalable approach for smart city parking management.
